Clinic
Many people nowadays are discovering the benefits of natural medicines, not only at the time of illness, but as a way of improving and maintaining general health, fitness and energy, and as a way of combating stress-related diseases. Constant ill health often stems from a combination of factors, involving perhaps the persons general lifestyle, diet and hereditary background and is usually the result of a gradual process.
The following list shows most of the therapies available at our health clinic, but if you can’t see a therapy that you’d like, please contact us:
Acupuncture
Disease results when the natural balance of ‘Chi’, energy in the body is disturbed. By inserting fine needles into specific points on the channels which carry ‘Chi’ around the body, or by burning a herb called Moxa over them, the balance of ‘Chi’ is restored.
Nutritional Therapy
This offers confidential advice on diet for reducing weight, maintaining health and boosting energy levels. The approach is holistic looking in detail at the individual present circumstances.
Herbalism
This is an ancient form of treatment, and many modern drugs can trace their origins to the early herbalist. Herbs, however, do not have the aggressive action of their descendants but, instead, provide medicinal substances in a harmonious whole to restore health, without side effects.
Homeopathy
It is based on the principle ‘like cures like’. All symptoms are recognised by homeopaths as expressions of disharmony within the person, and it is the patient rather than the disease which is treated. This means the personality as well as the patients symptoms are considered when the remedy to fit the symptom picture is chosen.
Counselling
Anxiety, depression and constantly feeling bad about yourself are some of the reasons for entering into therapy. The sources of emotional conflict and distress are explored to gain an insight into negative patterns of relationship that block change and growth.
Hypnotherapy
It will strengthen your will power and will help one overcome cravings and addictions like smoking and food cravings. Used with counselling it allows anxieties to be worked through.
Holistic Massage
A preventative approach which reduces stresses and strains of a busy life. It can overcome fatigue, reduce chronic neck and shoulder tensions and stimulate the lymphatic system promoting a sense of general well being.
Holistic Aromatherapy
This uses essential oils and holistic approach including a number of approaches, like dietary guidance, reflexology and general body conditioning to assist an individual in revitalising their physical body and emotions.
Reflexology
A technique involving compression or finger massage on specific points of the feet which correspond to the various organs or parts of the body.
Food Sensitivity Testing
The therapist will test for over 100 allergens, and at the conclusion the test will provide you with a list showing the degree of sensitivity in each case. In addition we are able to test for vitamin and mineral deficiencies. The test is done using a Vega Machine.
